Politically astute Americans are aware that the Democratic Party is moving so far to the Left that many of its rising stars are calling for insane, country-destroying policies like unaffordable “Medicare for all,” the abolishment of ICE and open borders.
They know that Democrats are the party of sanctuary cities as well as driver licenses, free or reduced college tuition, and special legal protections for illegal aliens.
An increasing number of Democrats are also supporting changes to federal and state voting laws that would allow these non-citizens the “right” to vote. After all, they’re living in our communities (illegally); why shouldn’t they have a say in how things are run?
For now, it remains against the law for illegal aliens to vote in federal elections, but that may not have stopped one Democratic candidate who is challenging incumbent GOP Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas.
The New York Times reports that Rep. Beto O’Rourke’s campaign has made wide use of text messages to engage supporters, as many candidates including POTUS Donald Trump do. But his campaign is denying that it sent a message this week encouraging illegal alien voting.
“We are in search of volunteers to help transport undocumented immigrants to polling booths so that they will be able to vote,” says one of the messages that ostensibly came from an O’Rourke campaign aide named Patsy. “Would you be able to support this grass-roots effort?”
A follow-up text from the same alleged volunteer stated the campaign was conducting a survey and wanted to know what recipients thought about “the dangers of socialism.”
Someone posted screenshots of the messages on social media, where they continued to spread into late Wednesday and Thursday. But Chris Evans, a campaign spokesman, told the Times the messages were sent by an “imposter.”
“That was not an approved message by the campaign,” he said.
The Times noted further:
The messages were sent by a first-time volunteer who had signed up for a shift on the campaign’s “texting team,” and whose real identity was still being investigated, according to a campaign staffer. The campaign believes the messages reached fewer than 1,000 people, the staffer said.
Of course, that was before the messages went viral on social media. (Related: Texas Democrat Beto O’Rourke was a drunk driver who attempted to flee the scene of the crime.)
Conspiracy nuts online immediately blamed the Cruz campaign and Texas Republicans.
This is an actual text a friend in Texas just received. It is NOT from the Beto campaign. Very slick, Ted Cruz & Texas Republicans. pic.twitter.com/oyIU2TzoA4

The Cruz campaign denied any involvement, though. “Our campaign had no involvement in the alleged abuse of the O’Rourke campaign’s texting platform. We don’t condone anyone who would engage in such action,” Emily Miller, a campaign spokeswoman, said.
The Left believes that O’Rourke is on pace to defeat Cruz, who ran away with the 2012 election – his first to the Senate – 56.6 percent to 40.5 percent (more than 1.3 million votes) for his Democratic opponent, Paul Sadler. “Recent statewide polling” puts O’Rourke and Cruz in a statistical tie, according to the Times and other Democrat-friendly media. But then, these polls all predicted a Hillary Clinton victory, so there’s that.
As for the text, sure, it could have been sent by an O’Rourke saboteur, but the tweet imploring O’Rourke volunteers to help get illegals to polling stations rings true because of the candidate’s support for lax borders, sanctuary cities, and opposition to ICE.
“Much of our strength, success, and security as a state and as a country depends on the immigrants who contribute to our society as together we build the American Dream. Any honest immigration reform must reflect the value of immigrants, refugees, and asylum-seekers by providing a path to work, family reunification and citizenship,” says his campaign website, adding that “the border with Mexico has never been safer…”
Tell that to Arizona rancher John Chilton, 79, who has been documenting life – and crime – at his 50,000-acre ranch, which borders Mexico. Illegal aliens and their armed smugglers regularly swarm his property and endanger American border agents.
